The Power of the Cross
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Rom 3:21-26)
remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. (Eph 2:12-16)
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Col 2:13-15)
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which [2] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (Gal 6:14)

He is so full of love...
"He is so full of love and kindness that he is disposed to nothing but to receive and defend us, if we come to him. Christ is exceedingly ready to pity us, his arms are open to receive us, he delights to receive distressed souls that come to him, and protect them: he would gather them as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings; it is a work that he exceedingly rejoices in, because he delights in acts of love, and pity, and mercy."

Jesus, Thy blood and righteousness
There are few things that can be compared to being reacquainted with old hymns. Hymns that I used to sing and be encouraged by are some times forgotten about. So many other songs come my way that it is easy to lay aside an old song because I am enraptured by a new song. But then that old hymn that has laid on the shelf for so very long is brought to me. Once again, the truth of the song warms my heart as it once did. The Christ that was put before your eyes so many years ago is displayed again is glorious appeal!
This is one of those songs. I knew it from days long past, But in chapel this morning it was brought to my mind again. I thought I would share it with all of you.
JESUS, THY BLOOD AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
Jesus, Thy blood and righteousness
My beauty are, my glorious dress;
’Midst flaming worlds, in these arrayed,
With joy shall I lift up my head.
Bold shall I stand in Thy great day;
For who aught to my charge shall lay?
Fully absolved through these I am
From sin and fear, from guilt and shame.
Lord, I believe Thy precious blood,
Which, at the mercy seat of God,
Forever doth for sinners plead,
For me, e’en for my soul, was shed.
When from the dust of death I rise
To claim my mansion in the skies,
Ev’n then this shall be all my plea,
Jesus hath lived, hath died, for me.
Jesus, the endless praise to Thee,
Whose boundless mercy hath for me—
For me a full atonement made,
An everlasting ransom paid.
O let the dead now hear Thy voice;
Now bid Thy banished ones rejoice;
Their beauty this, their glorious dress,
Jesus, Thy blood and righteousness.

My Slow Blog
This is to inform my readers that things are going to get pretty slow around here for the rest of the semester. The reasons are two fold,
1. God has given me a job at Fedex. I work from 10: 30 pm to 3 am. So, I am giving five hours for five days to Fedex which means that I have five less hours to post things. I do thank the Lord for the job, I really needed one.
2. I am going to be writing a research paper on the New Perspectives on Paul. This paper requires me to read a lot more! So, I have several books to read before the end of April.
So,I will not be posting much until May . Maybe a song or quote here and there, but not much more.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read what is posted up here. I now that there is other things you could be doing that is more worth while.
Soli Deo Gloria!
